Our club was founded during the second world war.

In 1944/45 we began our football under the name of Banstead Juniors.

In our first season we won the League Cup.

1946/47 saw us change our name to Banstead Athletic F.C.

In our first season with the name we won the Surrey Intermediate Cup.

1947/48 & 1948/49 in these next two seasons we won the League title.

1949/50 We joined the Surrey League.

The ‘Glory Days’ began with Harry Clark.

1950/51 season we won the League title by 11 points.

Harry Clark scored 81 goals in 26 games.

We managed to win the League title in seasons: 1951/52,52/53,53/54

In 1964/65 Gordon Taylor ( our current President) won the League title with the club.

During nine seasons our highest placing was 5th.

1972-1975 Tim Breen was Manager and the team finished 4th & 2nd in the league. He left after three years to go to Bromley FC.

1979/80 season we joined the Athenian League.

1980/81 season we won the League Cup.

1984/85 season Athenian League closed we joined the Isthmian League.

1989/90 season we came close to closure of the club, but survived.

1990/91 season we finished 11th.

1992/93 season we got to the F.A.Vase quarter Final.

1993/94 season we finished 9th.

1994/95 season we managed to finish 8th.

1995/96 season was a good one, but out of the promotion zone.

1996/97 season Semi-Final of the F.A.Vase.

1997/98 season total re-build of the team.

1998/99 season Bob Langford resigned.

1999/2000 season Chick Botley took over,he lasted eight games, Langford was recalled along with Ray Best. Finshed 10th, but it was a struggle.

2001/02 season we managed to finished 5th in the League.

2002/03 season we flirted with relegation but finished 16th.

2006 season we joined the Combined Counties League.

2006/07 season saw Graeme Banyard become Manager with new players we managed to finish 6th.

2007/08 season Dave Leworthy took over,left after a short while, Graeme returned.

2008/09 season finished mid-table.

2009/10 season Barry Barnes became Manager, but he found it difficult, and Paul Norris his assistant took charge, with Barry taking the coaching role. We finshed 20th avoided relegation due to the rules. Paul resigned.

2010/11 season New managers: Russell Harmsworth & Bobby Knock & new team.

June 2011 Management team relieved of their duties, Graeme Banyard re-instated as Team Manager.

2011/12 season with 14 games into the season Dave Tidy takes over as Jt Manager with Perry Gough,

along with Asst Manager Paul Elsey, 1st Team Coach James Deacons, Physio Denis Lawton. in December 2011. Perry Gough left, in January 2012 Gary Pascoe left and also Zac Dutton. Manager Dave Tidy has left the club after the last game of the season. The club finished bottom of the Combined Counties League Premier Division at the end of the 2011/12 season. Dave Tidy along with James Deacons and all the management team left the club. We began life in the CCL First Division after being relegated. We got a new manager by the name of Andrew Tucker, he brought with him Michael Watson as Assistant Manager, Michael Thompson as First Team Coach, and Steve Bennett as G/K Coach & Team scout.

Feb 2013 Andrew Tucker leaves due to personal reasons. Also gone Michael Watson & Michael Thompson.

Feb 2013 Danny Lee is installed as First Team manager. Along with Nick Bolt Assistant manager. Assistant coach/fitness assessor is Darren Tomlin. Goalkeeper coaches are Steve Bennett and Aaron Tarry.

March 2013 Nick Bolt leaves. After a difficult season in the First Division the football club finished second from bottom.

March 2013 The club committee decided to have a change of manager and backroom staff. Out went Danny Lee, Steve Bennett and Aaron Tarry.

March 2013 In came Jack Johnson as manager. He has with him Assistant managers Gary Ring, Ross Birch. Along with Lee Malyon as matchday preparations manager.

April 2013 Reached the semi-finals of the RPM Records Division One Challeng Cup.

First season with Jack Johnson in charge finished a respectable12th in Division one. Lee Malyon left in 2014.

June 2014 A new Assistant manager appointed in James Cameron.

June 2014 A very proud moment for the club. We won the Combined Counties League match day programme award for 2013 -2014 season. This is judged over the Premier Division and Divison One clubs programmes.

August 2014  Appointed Steve Tyson as head coach, with Gary Ring and Ross Birch becoming coaches.

March 2015 Steve Tyson leaves to persue other things.

April 2015 Ross Birch has been released by the club.

May 2015 The club finishes 6th in Division One this season

May 2015 Jack Johnson resigns as manager of this football club.

May 2015 James Cameron is the new manager for the season 2015-2016

Special guests arrive at the club in July 2015 Brian Downing, Peter Day, and Dennis Partridge. The are the three sons of the founder members.

James Cameron brings in as his assistant managers Ross White & Rod Davis.Ross will also take on the coaching role.

July 2015 A very sad time indeed for the club, Mr Gordon Taylor, President of this club passes away.

Dec 2015 Len Walker central defender from the 1940's team died.

Season 2015-2016 we won the best administered club trophy for the CCL First Division.

May 2016 We finished 6th in Division One.

Feb 2017 It was announced George Corbett passed away, another player form the early days.

April 2017 We won the Division One title and promotion with a game to spare.

Unbeaten in the league since October 2016 under the management of James Cameron & Rod Davis.

Martin Smith was top scorer with 40 goals for the club.

May 2018 we finished our season in 19th position. A difficult season in many ways with a lot of injuries.

Aug 2018 Starting the season with high hopes. In March 2019 James Cameron decides he wants to leave. Rod Davis has alongside him Carl Taylor as Coach. A lot of lads come from Chertsey Town with him. Got to Semi-Finals of the Surrey Senior Cup against all odds as we had to get past AFC Wimbledon & Woking of higher leagues. Narrowly missed out reaching the Final when we lost on a penalty decision against Tooting & Mitcham Utd. Still a reasonable season finishing in the top eight.

Aug 2019 Carl Taylor takes over as |Manager. Season didn't start off too well with injuries. Have got to the 2nd round of the Specsavers Surrey Senior Cup after beating a step 3 team in Merstham along the way.

Unfortunately the Corona virus outbreak has put a stop to our season along with all other teams. The season 2019-2020 along with the 2020-2021 season is cancelled.

The Football Association have restructured our Non-League and changed the Combined Counties League slightly. We are now in The Combined Counties League Premier Division South or (CCLPS).
